Amiad is a tenacious and experienced litigator with over sixteen years successfully representing companies and individuals in courts and arbitrations in the United States, Asia and Europe.  Amiad’s focus is on high-stakes litigation and trying complex cases, advising clients in sensitive disputes, international arbitration, and bankruptcy and receivership matters.  Amiad has an extensive track record protecting the rights of aggrieved shareholders and victims of fraud and breach of contract in the United States and in The People’s Republic of China.

Amiad won a $475 million award for a Chinese insurer in a Hong Kong arbitration after a years long battle against several top law firms fought between Asia and New York.  Amiad’s familiarity with Chinese culture and language has helped him in dealing well with clients of all backgrounds.  Amiad won a New York order vacating an international arbitration award against a Chinese client that was heralded as the first of its kind.  Amiad briefed and successfully argued a New York State appeal that reversed summary judgment against a Chinese state-owned entity.  Amiad successfully argued a high profile and high stakes case leading to the reversal by a New York federal judge of a dismissal with prejudice.

Amiad has spoken widely on cross border litigation matters in the US and abroad.  Amiad started his career at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and worked as a partner at Lowenstein Sandler in New York. Amiad is a graduate of The University of Chicago and Northwestern’s Pritzker School of Law.
